The Alloy Theater is the former home to the Dance Alloy (1976-2012), a modern dance company that has been absorbed by the Kelly-Strayhorn Theater.
The Kelly-Strayhorn is a former silent movie palace that has been renovated into a multi-use performance space in the city’s historic East Liberty Neighborhood. The theater is named in honor of two Pittsburgh natives: actor/director Gene Kelly (1912-1996) and jazz composer/musician Billy Strayhorn (1915-1967).
Today, the Alloy Theater functions as a satellite location for the Kelly-Strayhorn’s dance performances, classes and other activities.
