This branch of the Carnegie Library serves the residents and businesses that comprise Pittsburgh’s bustling and exciting city center.

Established in 1890 through a gift by industrialist Andrew Carnegie (1835-1919), the Carnegie is Pittsburgh’s public library system with 19 branches scattered throughout the city. The Downtown branch is located inside part of a former bank called the Colonial Trust that today includes a Brooks Brothers men’s clothing store and various offices.

The branch includes computer work stations, meeting rooms and an impressive body of material for business and economic research.

STANDARD HOURS:
Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
