Opened in 2008, the George Rowland White Performance Center is a 42,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art building containing rehearsal studios and performance space designed to meet the artistic, health and safety needs of Point Park University students and the professionals who teach them.

Point Park is a liberal arts university founded in 1960 serving nearly 4,000 students at their urban campus in downtown Pittsburgh. The university’s name is derived from The Point, the location in Pittsburgh where the Allegheny River and Monongahela River meet to form the Ohio River.

The center features eight studios for rehearsals and performances, grand pianos and state-of-the-art sound systems. The main studio offers intimate seating for 188.

In 2012 the center was named in honor of George Rowland White (1929-2012), a former corporate executive and nuclear physicist who served as a university trustee.
