The 100-acre Henry Kaufmann Family Park is a project of the Jewish Community Center to provide fitness programs for family members of all ages. It is named in honor of Jewish German-American businessman Henry Kaufmann (1885-1955) in behalf of his family’s trust. The family owned Pittsburgh’s iconic Kaufmann’s Department Store for decades.
Formed through a merger in 1960, the Jewish Community Center Of Greater Pittsburgh provides a gateway to experience the richness of Jewish tradition and community while welcoming people of all backgrounds — Jews, Christians, Muslims and others — to participate in an environment that strengthens the physical, intellectual and spiritual well-being of individuals and families
The park features a 9-hole mini golf course, wilderness trails and an Olympic-size swimming pool.
