Constructed in 1922, the Manor Theatre is one of the oldest and best-known cinemas in Pittsburgh where movie lovers can enjoy mainstream, foreign and independent films that cross genres on any of four screens.
The Manor was originally designed to a be a silent movie theater with the atmosphere of a country club, from the Tudor-like exterior to a parlor-like lobby filled with elegant, dignified furnishings.
In 2012, the Stern Family (which owns the Manor) renovated the theater that gracefully blends elements of the original design with modern additions. The marble flooring and the plaster ceiling medallion were among the restorations. In addition,
The theater has also added a full-service bar and lounge where Hollywood-theme alcohol drinks are served and now screens movies digitally. The result is a sophisticated, classy, urban environment ideal to enjoying the best films.
