Modern Formations is a gallery and performance space founded in 2001 dedicated to representing the diverse artistic, musical and dramatic talent of Pittsburgh.

The gallery’s goal is to create an atmosphere conducive to bringing interaction and discussion about the arts.  In order to meet this goal, and that of promoting art in Pittsburgh, Modern Formations exhibits a diverse range of media including modern visual art, performance art, music, plays, films and literary readings.

Modern Formations is located inside a renovated storefront in the city’s trendy Lawrenceville neighborhood. It can accommodate up to 130 people comfortably.
