SouthSide Works Cinema is a multi-screen movie theater at an urban complex called the SouthSide Works. The complex is located near the Monongahela River on the city’s historic South Side and features retail, office, residential and entertainment components.

From the 1890s through the 1990s, the site was home to steel mills until the abandoned space became the focus of a public-private partnership resulting in the SouthSide Works. Today, specialty retailers, restaurants and the SouthSide Works Cinema surround the “town square” at the complex’s center.

The SouthSide Works Cinema is designed to echo the grand old movie palaces, with high ceilings and classy art deco decorative elements. It is operated by Cleveland Cinemas, an Ohio company founded in 1977 that manages seven regional specialty film theaters.
