SouthSide Works is an open-air retail, office, residential and entertainment complex located near the Monongahela River on the city’s historic South Side.
From the 1890s through the 1990s, the site was home to steel mills until the abandoned space became the focus of a public-private partnership resulting in the SouthSide Works.
Specialty retailers, restaurants and a movie theater surround the “town square” at the complex’s center. Also available are apartments known as The Flats featuring one and two bedroom loft-style units.
