This two-day event features powerful performances by youth and adults, showcasing the beauty and diversity of the African diaspora through dance, drumming, song, spoken word, and visual art.
“Dance Africa” is inspired by the legacy of dancer/choreographer Charles “Baba Chuck” Davis (1937-2017) whose work focused on traditional African dance — and his call for “Peace, Love, and Respect for Everybody.”
Presented by The Legacy Arts Project, whose mission is to preserve, promote, and create Africana arts that honor the history, heritage, and cultures of Africa diaspora in ways that advance healing and wellness, education, and community empowerment.
