This powerful documentary film unveils the cruel homophobia in Uganda.
Uganda is a land-locked country in East Africa which has struggled for more than a century of European colonialism and native dictatorships. The government is considered among the world’s most corrupt and the nation’s human rights record is poor. This is especially so for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual & transgender (LGBT) community.
“Out Of Uganda” centers on four protagonists — Philip, Lynn, Hussein and Shammy — young LGBT Ugandans who are fighting for survival.
Presented in conjunction with Reel Q, which stages Pittsburgh’s annual LGBT film festival.
