Alameda is a public park popular with the residents and visitors of rural Butler County.
The park dates back to 1901 when it began as an amusement park established by the Butler Passenger Railway Company with fun rides and a picnic grove. The original Alameda Park was closed in 1941 with the rides removed and the artificial lake drained. It eventually became a public recreation spot.
Today the park includes a pool (with waterslides), concession stand, playgrounds, pavilions and other facilities.
