The Allegheny Elks is Lodge No. 339 of the Benevolent & Protective Order Of Elks.
Founded in 1868, the Benevolent & Protective Order Of Elks (BPOE) is a fraternal order and social club with nearly a million members nationwide. Over the years, the Elks have become more and more inclusive as the order also become more supportive of community groups and needs. Membership is open to anyone over 21 years old, hold American citizenship, be of good moral character and who believes in a supreme being.
Lodge No. 339 was formed in 1896. The current building was opened in 1926 and has been remodeled multiple times over the years. It’s a handsome structure with columns, a porch and a large first-floor event space complete with a stage and a bar. Members and their guests even enjoy a professionally designed bowling alley.
