The American Jewish Museum is a component of the Jewish Community Center’s main campus dedicated to exploring contemporary Jewish issues through art.
Formed through a merger in 1960, the Jewish Community Center Of Greater Pittsburgh provides a gateway to experience the richness of Jewish tradition and community while welcoming people of all backgrounds — Jews, Christians, Muslims and others — to participate in an environment that strengthens the physical, intellectual and spiritual well-being of individuals and families
The center’s main campus is located in the city’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood, a part of Pittsburgh that has been the focal point for the area’s Jewish community since the 1920s. Inside the handsome, brick building are classrooms, event space, fitness facilities and a performance hall as well as the museum.
