Brookline Memorial is a welcoming municipal park in the Pittsburgh’s comfortable Brookline section.
What is now the city neighborhood of Brookline began as farm land in the 19th century before being annexed by Pittsburgh in 1908. For the next several decades, Brookline became a popular residential area for local factory and mine workers.
The park offers various ball fields, a batting cage, basketball court, hockey rink, children’s playground and a picnic pavilion.
Added in 1970 is a recreation center featuring an indoor basketball court, fitness center (including weight-lifting), a recreation room and meeting space.
STANDARD OPERATING HOURS:
The recreation center is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
PARKING:
Free, on-site parking is available.
