Hey Babe is a “throwback lounge” nestled inside the Maverick, a boutique hotel in what was originally a Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) fitness center.

The Young Men’s Christian Association begin in 1844 with a single location in the United Kingdom and now exists in over 120 countries. This particular five-story structure was built in 1909 when the area around it (called East Liberty) was considered the city’s “second downtown.” The original façade of the YMCA has been preserved, as have the building’s terrazzo floors and the lobby’s marble staircase.

Hey Babe’s decor embraces its historic environment (like the original crown moldings) with velvet banquettes, art deco wallpaper and vintage-style lighting fixtures. The result is a refined yet relaxed atmosphere.

STANDARD OPERATING HOURS:
Monday through Thursday, 4:00pm to 10:00pm; Friday & Saturday, 4:00pm to 11:00pm.

On-street parking is available.
