The Henry Heyman Theater is a performance space used by the University Of Pittsburgh’s theater students and outside companies. It is located inside the Stephen Foster Memorial, which is adjacent to the university’s iconic Cathedral Of Learning.

Commonly known locally as Pitt, the University of Pittsburgh is a state-related research university that began in 1787. The university is comprised of 17 undergraduate and graduate schools located in various buildings in the city’s Oakland neighborhood — effectively making it Pitt’s campus.

The 42-story Late Gothic Revival tower was completed in 1934 and is the tallest educational building in the Western hemisphere. It has a steel frame overlaid with Indiana limestone and has over 2,000 rooms and windows. Adjacent to the cathedral is a performing arts center and museum dedicated to the life and work of groundbreaking American composer Stephen Foster (1826-1864).

The intimate 153-seat Henry Heymann Theater is located downstairs at the Stephen Foster Memorial. It is named in honor of
